We’ll Talk Later

So it’s proven to be a ton of work to try to blog regularly; this is the first time I’ve had internet access in six days.  Due to this, I’m throwing in the towel on keeping up the blog during my trip.  I’ll write it up when we return, but you all (the few of […]

About

As most of you who are reading this probably know, I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. I began this blog last summer to keep friends, family, and students up to date on my adventures visiting my good friend Ned in Istanbul during July of 2007.  The picture below is a self portrait taken in my hotel room in London in the midst of my day plus delay and subsequent British Airways’ luggage debacle.  If I look exhausted, I was.  Part of me hopes to never be so low in my travels again, but the better part of me knows you’re not having fun if things aren’t going wrong.

I’m a teacher, which explains why I have so much time to travel in the summers. In addition to teaching middle school, I also coach soccer and generally enjoy teaching stuff to people, young and old.  I also enjoy writing, and I suppose this blog is a reflection of my love for teaching and my love for writing, although my tendency towards self deprecation leads me to immediately question how much you’ll learn from reading it.

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions and/or leave comments–it’s good to know somebody’s reading this.
